Welcome to Laporte Elementary Music Distance Learning!

Week 4 April 20                Our Small World Week – someone may need to help you read

In January we watched, discussed, and listened to the songs from The Sound of Music. Some of your favorites were on You tube clips in week 1 & 2.  The music and singing were great as well as the story. This week we are going to return to looking at music with and by children, and in their place around the world.

Please listen and sing to increase awareness of music in our many countries in the world.

First activity time for music:

It’s a Small World

It’s a world of laughter, a world of tears, It’s a world of hopes, it’s a world of fear

There’s so much that we share that its time we’re aware, it’s a small world after all.

It’s a small world after all, it’s a small world after all, it’s a small world after all, it’s a small, small world.

Can you sing as the video moves along? Use the words above to help you. There will be

many things to see and hear as you take a boat ride through this Small World Disneyland ride. (10 minutes +)

QUESTIONS:  What differences did you hear and see, and what were the same as in the Minnesota?

What instruments did you see in the Celebration video?

Little Green Frog    * For the young ones to sing along with and anyone that wants to smile *

Mm Mm went the little green frog one day, Mm Mm went the little green frog.

Mm Mm went the little green frog one day, and they all went Mm Mm Ah.

But we all know frogs go (clap)la de da de da, (clap)la de da de da, (clap)la de da de da

We all know frogs go (clap)la de da de da. They don’t go Mm Mm Ah!

Other fun possible actions: Pat legs on each Mm Mm. For Ah - Open hands as if to hold a small tray on each hand. During la de da’s use shaky hands up high.
