Classroom Rules
1. Respect the right of each and every student to an orderly and positive learning environment.
2. Arrive at class prepared and on time.
3. Respect the role of the teacher as the class leader.

Consequences for Violating the Rules
1. The student may be removed from the classroom.
2. Conference with the student’s parent(s) or guardian(s).
3. Conference with the principal.
4. Expulsion from class.

Rewards for Complying with the Rules
1. The opportunity to be a part of a great math class at Laporte School.
2. Personal growth.
3. The respect of your teacher.

Classroom Procedures
1. Bring your math book, math notebook, scientific calculator, and a pencil to class each day.
2. Enter the classroom in a civil and orderly fashion.
3. Be seated in your desk before the bell rings.
4. Your assignment will be written on the board when you enter class. Begin work on this task immediately. Do not wait for the bell to ring or for me to remind you.
5. Failure to comply with #2 and #3 will result in a tardy.
6. Passes to the lavatory, office, etc., are not awarded for the first minutes of class.
7. Class ends when the teacher dismisses you, not when the bell rings.
8. Materials are put away and the desks are straightened before we end class.
9. Do not interrupt the first minutes of class or any “teach time” for classroom chores such as pencil sharpening, obtaining materials, tossing trash, and the like. Attend to these details either before class or during student “work time.”
10. Hall passes are granted only during “work time”. Ask permission. Obtain the pass from, and return it to, the pouch on the bookshelf by the teacher’s desk.
11. Ask permission before removing items from the teacher’s work area. This includes tape, pens, pencils, etc.
12. No food or beverages are permitted in the classroom (with the exception of water for health reasons).
